Got it as a joke gift, but honestly, the little guy's already my favorite desk mate. The prickly texture is surprisingly satisfying to poke, and it's the only plant I haven't managed to kill yet.

Placed it on my desk last week and already it's holding its own against my terrible watering habits. The spines are sharp enough to make me think twice before ignoring it, and the color is a deeper green than the photos showed.
